Found the postings from Ancestry.com and the 1849 ship tragedy. That led me to this site and the story as posted. My great grandmother was Lina Huygens of Roseland. Her great great grandfather was Cornelius Pieterz Dalenberg who died on the Massachusetts. I found the link to the book about the founding of Roseland and will reach out, but if anyone has additional current or historical records/stories to share about this line, please let me know. ddmoravec5@msn.com 309-838-1947. Thanks.

Hello Dalenbergs! My father Pieter Dalenberg (and his family)came to New Jersey in 1927 from Texel Netherlands. His father was Hendrik and his mother Antje. Her maiden name was Kalis. I had no idea there were so many Dalenbergs!

My great-great gandparents were Pieter and Tryntje (Dalenberg) DeJong who came over with the 1849 settlers. My great grandfather Philip Tanis married their daughter (also named Tryntje) who was the first Dutch girl born (2 Sept 1850) in the new village that became Roseland. I believe that Pieter Dalenberg was Tryntje Dalenburg Dejong's brother.

Hello, I used to write back and forth with Duane Dalenberg when we were both working on geneology. My great great grandfather, Johannes Ambuul was on the ship with the Dalenbergs, et al, when they all came to America.
Best wishes, 160 years later, from the Ambuul family to the Dalenberg family. As to my name, I am currently Eric Jensen, but I was born William Edward Ambuul Jr.
Best wishes, Eric.

Hi, Dalenberg family! It was great to find your picture of the Massachusetts and its passenger list. I am a descendant/relative of 3 of those families. Johannes Ambuul married Neeltje Oudendijk, who is the daughter mentioned on the passenger list. Johannes' and Neeltje's daughter Katharine (Trijntje) is my great grandmother. Jan Jonker's sister, Grietje, and her husband, Albert Bas, arrived with their children and Albert's mother in 1854 after the death of Albert's father. Their son Peter married Katharine, and is therefore my great grandfather.
